I work in both Windows 7 and Ubuntu. I use Windows 7 as my development environment and Ubuntu as my testing environment, because at the end my projects will run in a Linux environment. There are a lot of ways to share files between Windows and Ubuntu/Linux. You can choose either FTP or Samba. To share a folder in Windows 7 you need to do some configuration so that Windows 7 allows others on the same network to access your shared folder.
First I was going to write the step-by-step guide on how to share a folder in Windows 7 and connect it from Ubuntu, but my friend suggested making a video instead. So I challenged myself to make a how-to video and upload it to YouTube. This is my first video project, so I would like to receive feedback from you — feel free to add any comment to the comment box below.
Share folder in Windows 7 video
I hope the video helps you share a folder in Windows 7. It is not just accessible from Ubuntu but from another OS on the network as well. This is my first video project — any feedback is welcome in the comment box below. Thanks for watching and have a great day.
