You can set up your own private nameserver if you have reseller account access rights. For example, if you have domain ivankristianto.com, you can set your nameserver to ns1.ivankristianto.com and ns2.ivankristianto.com rather than use your hosting provider’s default nameserver. This will give you more credibility.
Steps to set up a private nameserver for a reseller account in WHM/cPanel:
1. Log in to your WHM account as root.
2. Click on Reseller Center in the left menu.
3. Under Edit Reseller Privileges/Nameservers, select the reseller account you want to provide with private name servers.
4. Scroll down to the very bottom of the page until the Nameserver section.
5. Fill in the nameserver, example:
ns1.ivankristianto.com
ns2.ivankristianto.com6. Assign an A record entry for every nameserver. Give the proper IP addresses you got from your provider.
7. Save all settings.
Now you need to edit your domain setting. For GoDaddy domain, follow the steps below:
1. Log in to your GoDaddy control panel.
2. In the Dashboard, select the “Advanced Details” link next to the domain name for which you will create nameservers.
3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will see a “Host Summary” box. Click on the “Add” link next to the “Host Summary” text.
4. You will be presented with a pop-up box to set host and IP addresses.
5. Under the “Host Name” field, type ns1.
6. Under the “Host IP 1” field, type your primary IP, your server IP address.
7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 for ns2, for the secondary IP address. If you have more than 1 IP address then fill it with your secondary IP. But if you have only 1 IP, then you can fill it with the same IP address.
8. Click on the “Ok” button to save your changes.
9. Now set your nameserver to the nameserver you just created.
10. Now just wait — it can take up to 72 hours to fully propagate.
